“Alicante and Valencia airports achieve record-breaking April passenger numbers”
Good news for Alicante and Valencia airports as they have registered their best April figures in history. Alicante airport has seen a surge in passenger numbers to 1.43 million, while Valencia airport saw 863,541 passengers in April. These results represent a 7% increase from the same period in 2019, and a growth of nearly 20% compared to 2022, according to a statement from Aena, Spain’s airport operator. Of the total passengers who used Valencia airports in the fourth month of the year, 1,433,078 were commercial passengers, of which 1,239,992 travelled internationally, indicating a 4.3% increase from 2019 and a 20.2% increase from 2022. The number of national tourists has also risen by 26.7% before the outbreak of the health crisis compared to 2020 and by 14.5% compared to last year. UK leads as the country with the highest number of passengers, followed by the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Germany, and France.
